Project: Catalepsy is a 3D roguelike that blends exploration, deep narrative, and challenging gameplay. From the initial idea to the playable prototype, I led the entire development as a Game Designer, designing levels, systems, and mechanics while guiding a 10-person team to bring the project to life. Catalepsy combines a hellish environment with a profound narrative that invites introspection. Every level, enemy, and system has been designed to deliver a coherent and demanding experience, where uncertainty and discovery are key.

My approach as a Game Designer focuses on crafting immersive worlds that not only entertain but also convey meaning and emotion to the player.

My Role and Contributions

From concept to playable prototype, I led every stage of development:

  • Concept and creation: Defined the game’s vision, mechanics, and narrative, ensuring that every element contributed to the overall experience.
  • Game Design Document (GDD): Wrote and maintained a comprehensive design document to align the team and guarantee coherence across mechanics, narrative, and level design.
  • Team management: Coordinated and mentored a team of 10, overseeing tasks, guiding members, and ensuring deadlines and goals were met.
  • Level and systems design: Planned and prototyped levels and enemy behaviors, balancing challenge, player freedom, and engagement.
  • User Interface (UI) design: Created wireframes and mockups in Figma and implemented them in Unity, achieving a clear and visually appealing user experience.
  • Pitch and strategy: Developed investment and presentation materials to communicate the game’s vision, potential, and market viability.
